Fall Inspiration Shoot.

...

I had the amazing opportunity to work with some of the best vendors in Kansas City to create an inspiration shoot a few weeks ago.  Alea, the photographer wanted a whimsical curled style that looked natural and glamorous.  I had a lovely model to work with and it turned out great.  The shoot was even featured on Ruffled. Check out the full list of vendors and loveliness on Ruffledblog.com.

Stephanie is beautiful.  She is sweet and her laugh is contagious.  It was such an honor to get to know her and be a part of her special day.  She wanted something simple, and natural looking… a style that wasn’t too far from what her day-to-day hair looked like.  Her wedding was lovely, see for yourself.

I also had the opportunity to do Stephanie’s adorable neice, Kate’s hair and her sweet mom’s hair as well!

Katie originally contacted me and said she wanted me to do her hair but had NO idea what I’d do because her hair is super short. She has a cute cut with longer hair in the front and the back tapers into an adorable short bob.  Later in the wedding planning process, Katie attended a wedding and fell in love with the bride’s curly bun look.  When she told me about this via email, I told her to get extensions and we could work something out.  When she came to KC for her trial, I cut her extensions to blend with her natural haircut and we worked the magic.  Her hair turned out great.  Katie, her beautiful daughter, her family and friends were so much fun to be around during the “getting ready process”. Check it out.

Rachel is full of life and so, so sweet.  It was so much fun to be a part of her special day.  Rachel’s friends and family were a blast to be around all day… lots of laughing!  Her style was beautiful with a low, swept over bun.  They married at the Weston Red Barn Farm outside and it was dreamy!

a long awaited day

Alea & Piotr  have a beautiful love story.  He’s from Poland, she’s from Missouri, they fought to see each other over the past few years.  They fell in love, got engaged, struggled through the visa process, they finally got to get married after not seeing each other for months and patiently waiting and waiting.  They have a great story and now they get to live the rest of it happily…together.  Alea is a friend of mine, so naturally, I was thrilled when she asked me to do her hair.  She looked absolutely perfect on that day… There aren’t words to describe the joy that melted out of her all day.  It was so beautiful.  Her wedding was the classiest I’ve ever seen.  It was the perfect mix of vintage, class and culture.  It was truly stunning.  It was such a fun, lovely day.

My husband and I met Grace and Eric during an awkward Craigslist meet-up in the Sears parking lot.  It ended up being awkward free and we really liked them.  How could you not?  They are so sweet and Eric loves the Bulls which immediately drew my husband in…  We talked with them for a while and a few weeks later I had an inquiry for hair in my inbox.  I was thrilled!  It was an honor to be a part of such a sweet, special, homegrown wedding.  Grace’s hair was so fun to do.  Curly and red!!  I enjoyed pinning every piece!  She wore a sweet birdcage veil for the ceremony and the most amazing headband for her reception.  I love the looks she chose!  So whimsical and gentle.  It went perfect with her sweet backyard wedding!

the sweetest thing

Katie and Nick’s wedding was special initially because my husband and I are “Katie and Nick” as well.  When I met Katie at her hair trial, I was immediately drawn to her.  Katie is full of love and laughter and life. She has abounding joy just spilling out of her, and it’s contagious.  Doing hair for Katie’s wedding was such a gift to me. I left feeling like I had been blessed…. what an honor.  I am so happy that I got to know Katie and be a part of this special day.  She’s beautiful, take a look.

This is a dear friend of mine who has lovely hair.  Her long, luscious locks stir up this whimsical dream that we all need.  I played around with her hair for a little bit one afternoon.  For one style, we wanted a messy, thick braid, and classy/vintage for the other.  We had fun being girly and having lunch at the yummy Taco Factory.

Isn’t she lovely?

I’ve been trying to take more photos of the styles that I do for the bridesmaids and friends and events and such. Here is a style from a wedding a few months back.  This is one pretty momma!
